Creative Insight
The ”60s”, was a time when you could certainly see dough figurines on the streets of Taiwan. The dough figurines that the vendor was always surrounded by as a child are gradually disappearing. “Death of the traditional craft” and “Childhood memories” are represented by the dough figurines.
Background
Chen Ying is an art teacher. When she was a little girl, she used to follow her parents onto the street, where they sold dough figurines. Naturally, she learned how to make them as well. Once her parents retired, she decided to pass on this art and teach it at the Fu-An Elementary School.
